The Hunger Games

I woke up early in the morning on 21 March to go to Bugis to meet people to head to Simei ITE.

Ok, I admit I regretted agreeing her to be her hair model when I woke up at 5.45am. Siao right, for someone who seldom wakes up so early during the holidays. But I also have to admit I was glad to help her out. I had a nice haircut though :) My first time as a hair model.

I had this haircut called Natural Inversion which is the combination of One Length and Forward Graduation, basically in simple terms, Layered hair.

Mel, senior hair stylist from Toni & Guy.

Oh did I mention the hair studio/salon classroom was fabulous? It is really like a real salon.

After the haircut, I headed back home from the east all the way to the west to rest before the evening date with my partner, Rachel.

This is taken at home. My eyes were weird for the one taken in salon. Yes, I only took one.

My date with Rachel in the evening started with dinner and camwhore session.
Rachel recently had a new camera Canon G1X and we took many crazy ones.

One of the normal ones.

Those are the few of my favourite ones.

Even though we were not shortlisted for the competition, we were still invited for The Hunger Games Gala Premiere as we were one of the top 85! *Hurray* I didn't think that there were so many invdividuals/teams who registered for the competition.

I had been waiting for the movie since last year, ever since the trailer was broadcast in the movie theatre.

As much as I don't want to be a spoiler, I want to voice my thoughts.

I just don't get the fightings. Ok, for tribute, but I believe there are other ways to pay your tributes. But by sacrificing people's lives? This is really cruel, killing one another. Another thing, poverty. Really the cruel side of life. The poor works for hard to survive while the rich enjoy all the food and stuff.

Somehow the movie taught us all valuable stuff. Survival. In life, we fight for things, just for one place.

Coming up next: Grand Cruise with bloggers~ There will also be exciting deals for you to look out for! Remember to check back!

ELLE/Canon Street Style Photography Workshop

I attended this workshop organized by ELLE and Canon on 29 October at SAUCE :D
Thanks to Joey for letting me know about this, and of course, I met some fellow bloggers there as well.

I was probably one of the few who doesn't have DSLR and attended the workshop. I'm also a photography noob, haha. Rachel once told me about my bad photography skills - I'm learning.

I'm the number 21 guest to arrive. (I was late, but I expected it to start first.)

1st speaker.
Heh, cannot remember the name. Opps.

There are more tips that I didn't manage to take :(

Snacks.

Close up of snacks.

2nd speaker.

Some shots I took.

I like this candid shot of her.

My guest of the day, Jasmine

Took another piece of this, because it's irresistable :D

Can't help but like the expression on the model.

There was lucky draw too. Too bad I didn't get a lucky number.
But Mirai got the first prize of a pair of GoldHearts ear rings. What a lucky number she has :D

Panda :D

We all walked away with an awesome goodie bag :D

2 movies in a day

Yup, I didn't type it wrongly. I caught 2 movies in less than 6 hours yesterday :)

Crazy, Stupid, Love.

My friend treated me to this movie :P

Honestly, why is it rated PG13? I find it to have many "sex" scenes and vulgarities. It is just not right for age below 16 to watch it. It should rated NC16 or M18.

Been here done that, you (below 18/16) might argue that you are mature enough to accept such scenes/stuff. Well, since you are at that teenage age, you are quite vulnerable to the external environment that could change your whole life. You may think that I have traditional view, but I find it the right thing not to catch such stuff if you are too young for it. I doubt any parents would want to accompany their children to watch such movie too.

Fright Night

Actually, I didn't want to catch this movie. Churpchurp happened to be on my twitter timeline when I was on twitter. All I had to do was to retweet the tweet and got the pair of movie tickets. Thank you, Churpchurp! :D

The movie is comedy plus horror plus thriller (in my opinion). I was actually covering my face with my hands, watching through the holes between my fingers during the scary parts. At least, it wasn't as bad as what I did when I watched horror movies. You'll be seeing me covering my face the whole time, it's true. That is why I don't have horror movies. I just don't want to scare myself further :P Ok, this one has much more vulgarities than the previous movie.

I was telling Rachel that vampires don't exist in real life. & sorry to say this, but Singaporeans are not that friendly to invite "strangers" even neighbours into their house, without any reason. Besides, Singapore is not that rural. Everything is so convenient, if you need beer in the middle of the night, visit the nearest convenience store, like 7-11.

Just giving my 2 cents worth.
In the end, I didn't pay a thing for the movie tickets :) Thanks to my friend & Churpchurp! But I did buy popcorn to share.

I just sent my Canon Powershot S95 in for repair yesterday. The lens were dented after the fall at Cars 2 Gala Premiere (14 Aug) :( and the repair will cost about $230 without GST. I agree to it because I know I want/need/love that camera. I could have bought a new one but I could only afford a less-than-500 one.

Oh well, lesson learnt. My camera will be loved/taken with care :) I'll be back with pictures/images on my blog as soon as I have my camera back.

Heartache. There goes my next pay, which is coming soon. It's tomorrow, if I'm not wrong :D

Yay

Took using the camera. Admit that the colour is a bit dull. Will improve on it.

Yay, I went to Comex 2010 to get my Canon Powershot S95.

I mentioned before that I wanted to get myself a camera before this year ends. But I didn't expect it so soon! I mean, like I thought I won't have the money etc. And when I have it, I'm so excited to get it that I checked Canon website almost everyday to ensure the price remains the same :D But S90 became $799 after staying at $749 for quite some time.

I wanted S90 before that, but S95 came about 2 weeks ago and weeeee, I think, it's a better/improved version than S90 and it's cheaper! Wee, I'm a happy girl now. Bought it myself and I'm proud of myself!

Guess what free gifts I got:
- Screen Protector
- Casing
-2 8GB memory card
- Tripod
- Cleaning kit
- Mouse
- Multislot adapter
- Calculator
- Cap (-.-)

I decided to go for the complimentary product training on S95 to know more/learn how to use the features! However, the next one is 15th Sept on 2-4pm, but got internship! So, I shall wait for the next schedule to be updated first.

But I'm going to start saving again! Haha.

To my dear Valencia. We must save together okay? I really feel like travelling with you guys! Start saving today! I shall post up my saving tips because of you :D

Here are my saving tips:

1. Keep all your money in the bank.
Having excess money in the wallet will only allow you to spend it all.

2. Have only $10 or enough money to last for the whole day's meal.
So that you will restrain yourself from withdrawing money (troublesome).

3. Deposit your little savings every other day/every week.
Even a little money like $20 will also help in your saving in the long run.

Hope these little tips help :)

August

I know I should be studying right now. But I'm so tempted to blog after like a month of not blogging/reading other people's blog. Oh well, just once.

1. Sidebar & Topbar

As you can see at the sidebar and the topbar? I have added pages. Okay, it's just one additional page, which has only a little stuff. (HAHAHA) Eh I added Formspring.me! Yes, you can ask me anything through this application now! :D Just felt like creating it, so tada.

2. Saturday's date with Rachel

Actually, it was due to BonitoChico's 4th Birthday Bash at Zirca that I date her. Initially she didn't want to go and I wanted to, just to see how it feels like.

Oh well, the door was supposed to open at 2.30pm. Kiasu us wanted to get the goodie bag, no matter what. Nope, we didn't start queuing at 12pm even though we heard that the queue started from 11am. We reached the end of the queue at about 1.50pm. & it was already a long queue. We stood at the same spots with more than 10cm heels for like 1+hours. The door opened at slightly after 3pm.

When we got in, it was like dark dark and it kinda spoil my mood. Perhaps I never been to a club and it should be like this, I guess? So, we settle down at the 2nd level, and we sat down on the floor so that we could see the stage as part of the ceiling was blocking it.

Haha, the fashion show started and I like the Maxi dress! We get to drop the ticket stub into the number of that outfit we can get to win. I didn't choose that maxi in the end. Oh well.

Oh did I mention we need to print our tickets ourselves and that everyone had different size. I printed mine and Rachel's together in A4 paper. But it was quite small as compared to those people who printed one in A4. Wow, Rachel said I should have printed larger so that got bigger chance because easier to grab? Oh well.

The funny part (I think) was when they picked the first prize. It was the small paper and I imagined it to be Rachel's or mine. Haha, of course it's not ours. It's fated, I guess. I wanted that KATE SPADE prize! The "youngest" winner was only a "born-in-90" :(

BonitoChico changed to Love, Bonito (http://www.lovebonito.com) :D
They also have FaceBook & Twitter!

Everyone who has the goodie bag had a balloon, which both of us released it after the event. Well, I think mine got stucked to the tree :(

3. Canon Cameras

Went to Megatex Electronics & IT fair with mummy on Sunday. I wanted to buy Canon Powershot S90, but realised it was sold out :( Then was thinking of G11, but sold out too. Next, EOS 550D, also sold out.

S90: I like this one because it's compact and portable, easier to be carried around without any trouble.
G11: The screen can be twisted and webcam!
550D: Well, after all, it's a DSLR (which almost everyone wants to get) but it's difficult to carry around.

For now, I'm still thinking which one to buy. Any suggestions? No matter what, I still want to buy a Canon camera!

4. Moved

Moved my personal selling page to livejournal.
Just felt like changing so TADA :)
